A delicate but still quite full-bodied unpeated Islay whisky, with a vibrant twist, the result of the long slow maturation of a very clean and malty distillate, only slightly enhanced a final finish for four years in second fill Oloroso casks. The influence of the dry sherry is restrained but noticeable: the expected silky, flowery and waxy

character of the distillery is always there, with the usual firm maltiness and honeyed notes. But soon, citrusy notes start to grow: orange peel, candied lemon, bergamot. Creamy maltiness is soon replaced by a drier, livelier attitude, with a playful spiciness and even delicately leathery, farmy and organic notes, evolving into a peppery finale with hints of liquorice root.

A rare release from an ultra-smoky batch of Bunnahabhain, an Islay distillery which is famous for its usually unpeated single malt. What makes this bottling so fun is that when they make a peaty spirit, they don’t go for half measures: it’s immediately obvious from the first whiff that this is a feast of all the typical Islay flavours. Extremely smoky, ashy, full of maritime notes and a marked medicinal touch, it’s a very clean and malty spirit as expected from Bunnahabhain… but at the same time it packs a wallop in terms of pure “peat power”. It’s also interestingly vegetal and herbal, with rich notes of black liquorice, gentian root. The aftertaste is particularly warm, peppery and lingering, with the smokiness reverberating for minutes after each sip.

Tarquin Leadbetter, the maverick self-taught Master Distiller behind the World’s Best Gin – awarded at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition – has combined his experience with distilling botanicals, his love of experimentation and innovation to create a progressive spiced golden rum.

First a secret spice recipe including orange and vanilla is distilled in a flame-fired Cornish copper pot still, then blended with Jamaican pot still rum and a light, column-still rum from the Dominican Republic. Twin Fin is then finished with a touch of Pedro Ximenez sherry for natural balance and rested over charred oak chips for a rich golden warmth.

After racking, the malolactic fermentation takes place in wood and the refinement lasts for about 20 months in 25 HL barrels and

52 HL Garbellotto. After aging in wood, the wine is transferred for a few months in cement, steel or fiberglass, before being bottled, usually between July and August of the year prior to its release on the market.

The joint venture between Carlo Quaglia, distiller since 1890 in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Federico Ricatto and the Speakeasy of Rome with his Jerry Thomas Project produced a Vermouth that lengthens the moments of mixed thinking until the end of the 1700s.

To say that the recipe is simple is to make fun, the names of the ingredients are simple, but the intellectual "potion" of conceiving wine, alcohol and naturalness in herbs and spices is very, very complicated.

The wine is a Langhe white Muscat, to which pure alcohol of refined distillation has been added (it will reach up to 18 °), then about fifteen aromatic and officinal herbs collected on the alpine slopes that surround Turin and spices. The added sugar is pure and recently refined cane sugar.

Vermouth del Professore This product is called really far from the stereotypes of flavored wines, always called Vermouth, which create excellent cocktails such as Negroni or Americano.


Vermouth del Professore was created with a well-defined purpose, that of regaining possession of the role that must compete with it, that of an aperitif.

We recommend serving at room temperature in large goblets accompanied by dark chocolate pralines and hazelnut grits, or in a tumbler with ice and orange peel.
